Hello, I’m Nemah, an Indigenous full-spectrum midwife dedicated to guiding families through life's most profound transitions. With a focus on home births, I’ve had the privilege of delivering babies around the world, offering a holistic and deeply personal approach to childbirth and healing.
My journey began long before midwifery, through the teachings of my beloved grandmother, Maria Pilar Fernandez Vialobos, from Chihuahuita, Mexico. She instilled in me a deep connection with plants and healing herbs, teaching me how to intuitively understand the plants by their scent and essence. My grandmother was my first teacher, guiding me as she helped heal her community. Today, her legacy is the driving force behind my work.
Initially, I created handmade products for the clients I worked with—blends and remedies crafted with love and intention. Over time, my passion for supporting others through their healing journey grew, and four years ago, I began sharing my products with the world. Many of you may know me from attending powwows, markets, or venues, or perhaps from reading my stories in local newspapers or listening to my radio show on Day Break Star.
What sets me apart as a midwife is the deep respect I hold for our Indigenous traditions and the holistic approach I bring to every client. My work goes far beyond childbirth—it’s about supporting the whole family through every stage of the journey, from conception to birth, and even during postpartum and passing ceremonies. My role isn’t just to guide physically, but spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. I create custom herbal blends—from teas and tinctures to personalized salves—crafted specifically for each person’s unique needs.
I also honor the sacred tradition of the cuarentena ceremony after 40 days postpartum, holding space for the mother’s transition into motherhood and helping to restore balance to her body. These practices are not for everyone, but for those seeking empowerment through natural birth, they find their way to me.
Throughout my work, I have served women from all walks of life—whether overcoming substance abuse, refugees, or those in the public eye—and the one thing they share is a desire for the best possible care for their baby and themselves.
All of my products are made from scratch, with each ingredient gathered consciously and with respect for all relations—honoring the Earth and all life. My connection to the land and plants is sacred, and I approach every aspect of my work with reverence.
I am here to empower, guide, and support families on their journey, creating a safe space for natural healing and transformation. It’s not just my work—it’s my calling
